This guide describes ambulances in general. What the ambulance for your trip carries, and who travels with the patient, is confirmed by our dispatcher before you book.
Pick the ambulance by what the patient needs on the way. The treating doctor can tell you. If you are not sure, the dispatcher helps you choose.
The types
- Basic life support (BLS). Stretcher, oxygen, trained attendant. For stable patients who need monitoring and a safe ride.
- Advanced life support (ALS). Adds drips, medicines and heart monitoring, with a crew trained for them. For seriously unwell patients.
- ICU ambulance (MICU). A moving intensive care setup: ventilator, pumps, monitors. For patients who need ICU-level care between hospitals. See ICU ambulance service.
- NICU ambulance. For newborns, with warmth and breathing support. See NICU ambulance service.
- AC ambulance. Air-conditioned. For emergencies, discharges and check-up trips. See AC ambulance service.
- Non-AC ambulance. Same use, lower fare, no cooling.
- Freezer van (lashbahi). For taking a loved one home after death. See freezer van service.

How to match one to your patient
- Ask the treating doctor what the patient needs on the way.
- Tell the dispatcher in the doctor’s words.
- Ask who travels and what is on board.
- Ask for the full fare before you agree.
